You’re holding on to your work too tightly.
I understand. I’ve struggled with it, too, and it took many years to (mostly) overcome it.
What does it mean, to hold on too tightly? I’ve mentioned before that a writer or artist should have a clear vision for their books, and maintain that vision throughout the creation and editing processes. I stand by that. That is different than today’s subject, which is feeling unable or unwilling to revise or throw something away.
